How it works

Arranged for you, before you arrive

Finding short-term housing from overseas is one of the hardest parts of a twelve-week program, so we take it off your list. Once your visa is approved and you have paid your accommodation fee, we place you in CTC-arranged shared student housing in Nanaimo and confirm the address in your pre-arrival pack, two to three weeks before your intake.

Housing is walking distance from campus or a short, direct bus ride. You will usually share with two to four other CTC learners, often from different programs and different countries.

Rooms and standards

Each learner has their own furnished bedroom with a bed, desk, chair and storage. Kitchens, bathrooms and living areas are shared. All properties are inspected by CTC before each intake, and every one is covered by the same standards agreement.

Arranging your own housing

If you have family in the area or would rather organise your own accommodation, tell us during enrolment and the accommodation fee will not apply. Be aware that having confirmed accommodation strengthens a visitor visa application, so if you go this route, have your arrangements documented before you apply.

House rules

• No smoking or vaping indoors
• Quiet hours from 10pm to 7am on class nights
• Guests by arrangement; no overnight guests without approval
• Shared spaces cleaned on a rota agreed by the household
• Any damage beyond fair wear and tear is charged to the responsible resident
