Refund policy

What happens to your fees in every likely scenario — written plainly, before you pay anything.

Your visitor visa is refused

Full refund of course and accommodation fees, or a free deferral

Send us a copy of the refusal notice. You may either defer your place to a later intake at no extra cost, keeping your admission fee on account, or take a full refund of the course and accommodation fees. The admission fee itself is non-refundable.

CTC cancels your intake

Full refund of every fee paid, including the admission fee

If a course does not reach the minimum group size of six learners, or CTC cannot run it for any other reason, you may take the next available intake or a complete refund of everything you have paid.

You withdraw more than 28 days before your intake

100% of course and accommodation fees refunded

The CAD 150 admission fee is not refundable, but it can be carried over if you reapply within 12 months.

You withdraw 8–28 days before your intake

75% of course and accommodation fees refunded

The retained portion covers the seat we have held and accommodation already committed on your behalf.

You withdraw within 7 days of your intake

40% of course and accommodation fees refunded

At this point the teaching group is fixed and your accommodation is contracted for the full twelve weeks.

You leave after the program has started

No refund

Once your intake has begun, fees are not refundable. If you have to leave for serious medical or compassionate reasons, contact us — we consider deferrals case by case.

How to request a refund

  1. Email admissions@careertechnicalcentre.com quoting your application reference.
  2. Attach supporting evidence where relevant — for example, a visa refusal notice.
  3. We acknowledge every request within two working days and confirm the amount due.
  4. Approved refunds are paid within 21 working days, to the account the payment came from.

Points to note

  • Admission Fee (CAD 150): non-refundable, but transferable to a deferred intake within 12 months.
  • Course Fee (CAD 1,035): refundable in line with the scenarios above.
  • Accommodation Fee (CAD 1,650): refundable in line with the scenarios above.
  • Refunds are made in Canadian dollars. Bank charges and exchange-rate movements are not compensated.
  • We do not refund third-party costs such as flights, insurance or government visa fees.

Deferrals

A deferral is usually better for you than a refund. You may defer once, to any intake within twelve months, keeping every fee already paid on account. Request a deferral in writing at least seven days before your intake begins.

Complaints

If you disagree with a refund decision, write to us at 1270 Strathmore St. Nanaimo BC, Canada or email admissions@careertechnicalcentre.com marking your message “Refund appeal”. Appeals are reviewed by a senior member of staff not involved in the original decision, within ten working days.
